Amran Abdi Kassim

I joined Azarmi Law in the summer of 2021 as a paralegal with a view to furthering my career in Immigration law. I am registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner in the category  Asylum/Protection and Immigration (level 1 and am currently studying to become level 2/3 qualified.

I completed my LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) and LL.M (Master of Laws) in the Netherlands in 2014 and worked as a Legal Claims Handler before moving to London  for greater international work experience. I worked in compliance and customer services roles before  taking the opportunity to volunteer with the Citizens Advice Bureau and most recently Bail for Immigration Detainees.

I have a natural curiosity for different cultures and during my studies I have volunteered in countries, such as Morocco, India, Ghana and Nepal. I find it rewarding to be able to assist vulnerable groups in our society, such as refugees or irregular migrants. Good communication is important to me. I grew up bilingual, Dutch and Somali and I learned English and German along the way.
